In America, a typical hobby would be a sport. In France though, it is not, seeing as only a couple girls play sports (I feel very out of place; I enjoy basketball, soccer, etc...). Today though, was an exception. The mayor of Paris held a heart program, featuring activities that are good for your heart. The one that I did was a ropes course (kind of like an obstacle course but up in the air). I love doing ropes courses. I enjoyed the one at my summer camp, which was about thirty feet up. It took me about one minute to finish it off, and as a reward, I got a bag containing a sports drink, a pedometer, and a beach ball. The picture above is one that my mom took from the ground.
Looks like you're the only one there! Did you see what the sign above you says? "No cigarettes, 5 fruits and vegetables, and 30 minutes of exercise a day". Then I can't read after that. It sounds like the French need you to be their fitness example.

Now, that looks neat! Maia would love it -- she is our climber and little athlete these days (soccer, swimming). She LIVES for rock climbing and the like and basically freaks me out whenever possible. I will have to think before showing her these pictures, b/c then she will beg me to take her to Paris!
ReplyDeleteCool! That sounds really fun!

I've always wanted to do a ropes course. When I was in Corsica ( as I wrote in another comment about my train ride there. After the 3 hour ride there, stopping to drop off a couple who didn't have tickets on the side of the tracks somewhere :), we finally got to Livorno, but missed the boat. ) my friends and I were going to go on a high ropes course, but we didn't have the time. You are so lucky!
ReplyDeleteHave a great rest of the trip
