Transportation

France has many different forms of transportation. Personally, I prefer to walk. A lot of people walk in France, and even though the sidewalks are about two yards long, they are very crowded. Always. You can also always take the Metro, which happens to be about (pardon the hyperbole) a million times more crowded than walking. Take today as an example of French traveling. I had only one hour of school today, seeing as one of my teachers was sick and my class was supposed to have her for three hours today, so I walked home, nearly knocking over three people, and almost stepping on ten. As soon as I got home and had lunch, I was ushered out the door so we could go to my mom's "Stanford Orientation" meeting. We walked to the Metro station not far from our house, and were shoved around inside. Same going home. I have to say, I prefer the comforts of transportation in California.

  1. The advantage of having the Metro nearby is that it also probably connects to every train in Europe. Just think of the advantages! When Mom gets annoying and won't take you where you want to go, you just tell her "Talk to the hand!" and "Hasta La Vista, Baby!", then you hop on the Metro!

  2. Lauren,

You write so well! Just like your mom. In fact, you kind of sound like your mom (younger, more hip version, of course). What a joy for me to read your own writing! I remember when you were just a cute baby. I know I sound ancient here, but seriously this is fun for me to read your blog!

Just be careful on the Metro by yourself. Although I bet by the end of this adventure, you will be very at ease with the crowdedness of it and delighted to be able to get places quickly.

Keep posting. Hi to your mom, too.

    (:
