Notre Dame, the Island, and the Eiffel Tower
Yesterday I went to Notre Dame, an island next door to it, and the Eiffel Tower. I took a lot of pictures there and a video, which is the one on the bottom of my writing. The video features what it looks like to ride down the Eiffel Tower elevator. It was amazing! When we got down, the Eiffel Tower started to do a brilliant flashing display of light. It went in a pattern, but that was hard to see, since there were so many lights. I am really nervous about going to school tomorrow. I hardly speak any French! To see a slide show of my pictures, click here.

Great photos! Don't worry about school; all the kids will want you to teach them English and to tell them all about California. Tell them we have earthquakes every day and that we have the Terminator for governor. "Talk to the hand".

cool video L.! it is amazing how long it took to get down. Don't worry about school. I'm sure you'll make lots of new friends. Remember that your friends (including me) have got your backs! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI love your video Lauren. I wish I could go up the Eiffel Tower, but it must be a really long ride up though and down. Did you like the view. As much as I would like to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower I'm still scared of hieghts. SO if I were at the top I would enjoy the view but also worry about falling all the way down and breaking my bones. Hope you keep having fun.
ReplyDeleteI love your pictures and your video. The Eiffel tower is really high I am sure scared of hieghts, so if I were up there I would enjoy the veiw + be scared of falling of and breaking my bones.
ReplyDeleteThat was only the top to the middle. There is another elevator going from the middle to the bottom, but the strange thing is that the lines for the elevator are much longer than the elevator ride itself.
ReplyDeleteOh my. You are living a dream! You will be the coolest kid at school. The French children will all be fascinated by the new California girls. Remember the song. Lilly hasn't seen your blog yet. She just got back home as she has been spending time with her cousin Grace. She is going to love this! And victor too! Save us some ice cream. Sending you and your mom lots of love! Mrs Johnson
ReplyDeleteI went to notre dame and had to walk all the way up. I counted about 400 steps.

Wow that sounds like fun, the lights look really cool, I want to go to Paris someday!
ReplyDeleteYou must of had fun!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I've always wanted to take a trip to the Eiffel Tower! I hope I get to some day. I hope you are doing well in school. Did you make many new friends? I know this is a weird question and kind of irrelevant, but are the people in France starting to talk about the World Cup? I would be if I lived in France, because they have a chance of winning. Also, after listening to the background noises in your video I have even more proof for myself that French is one of the most beautiful languages in the world!!!
