I survived my first day of school, though it was pretty hard. I made two new friends, and I think I aced English class. My teacher suddenly became ill, so I got to go home early, but it was hard to contact my mom, seeing as she was at work. I have to have a short blog post tonight, as it is very late in France time. I shall try to blog again soon.
Lauren is a star! 8000 miles from home, talking to Martians all day and no cell phone contact to Mom. You deserve a reward; I hope Mom gets you one! If she doesn't, I will!

It must have been very hard to not be able to talk to most of the other kids in your class. Do some of the kids speak reasonable English? I'm sure your French will improve quickly and you'll make more friends before too long.
