The Purse

Over the weekend, my mom and I went to Brittany, an area in France well known for its crepes. Now I know why. On our last day, the day we got on the train to go home, we went to the indoor farmers' market which contained sweets, live crabs, sharks, and lobsters. We then topped it off with a trip to the beach. It really is amazing how fast the tides go in and out. Since the beach is so flat, you can literally watch the tides move. We were having a great time as we relaxed at the tide pools along the beach until I fell from a seaweed covered rock into a pool of water. We walked back to the car to get me fresh clothes, but just as we were about to head back to the beach, my mom realized that her purse was missing. We ran as fast as we could after tearing up the car looking for purse. We sprinted back down to the beach in search of it, and split up. I ran to the tide pools where we had been. As I searched, a man sitting on a bench got up and, speaking in French, gave me my mom's purse. Later, after my mom translated, we realized that he had recognized me from a pic in the purse. Thankfully, nothing had been removed, and as a reward for finding the purse (which I don't think I deserved, seeing as the man found it) I got ice cream. I'm just glad we found it. It had a lot of money in it. Amazing.

  3. Wow, what a scary but nice story about the purse. Your Mom sounds more like her Dad by the minute, so many irons in the fire that you miss stuff. It's great to have you along to keep things in order, love.

    Great notes!

  10. Wow! That has happened to me before.

My family and I were leaving Rome to go to Livorno ( another place in Italy) because we were going to take a ship to Corsica from there. When we were at the train station, a man tried to steal our bags. It was 5 minutes from the departure time and the man ran into the toilet with our bags. My dad ran after him, got back the bags and sprinted back to the train barely getting on.

I hope you have a great rest of the trip!
