Paris Traditions

My mom and I have multiple traditions in Paris, but there are only two that are practiced as often as possible.

1) Every night, we go out under the Eiffel Tower. There are so many people selling Eiffel Tower statues underneath, as well as fake birds that fly when you wind them up, and little light up toys that you shoot up into the air with a rubber band, but come down softly by using the fan on top. But that is not our real tradition. We then go across the street and get a crepe (my favorite is chocolate banana whipped cream). This happens so often that we know the "crepe man" who speaks French, some English, a bit of Spanish, and a tad of Italian.

2) There is a farmers' market right by our house that sells food and flowers, as well as some strange things like wallets, chairs, and clothes. Octopus and urchins line the seafood stands while rabbit and cow brain (uggh) fill meat stands. Strangely, the other day we saw a group of camera men with boom mics running up and down the market with people in aprons. It was a cooking show! Amazing!

  18. I don't really like crepes, but that sounds really fun! I went to the Eiffel Tower when I was three, and I still remember the beautiful twinkling lights at night. The farmer's market there sounds so much more interesting than the one here. I mean a cooking show? I thought they produced those on movie sets! Sounds like you're having a lot of fun!
