Today our adventures led us to Asterix Park. Asterix is the hero fighting the Roman Empire in some comic books I have read, a short little man with a flask on his hip that often contains a potion that makes him supernaturally strong. Just like Disney Land, some people have made an amusement park about him that has amazing rides. It also includes some water rides and a dolphin show. My favorite ride was Goudurix, a ride that has 5 loops and a corkscrew, but I have to say, it was rather annoying, because it was very short. After we had enjoyed the park to its fullest, we left, but not before getting a small Asterix figurine. So cute!

But let's get down to the *important* things:
ReplyDeletehow were the crepes?
;-)
Love,
Your Dad
Asterix sounds so cool! When my mom would go to France as a little girl, her family would tell her and her sisters stories about him! So I guess he has been here for a long time!
ReplyDeleteMiss you lots!!!
Becca
Well, now I will need to learn about this Asterix character to keep up with the Parsonnet-Alfreys!
ReplyDeleteYour dad's comment is making me hungry for crepes. (And your mom's never-ending discussion of cheese makes me salivate! Its a wonder your parents aren't 250 lbs each. Hee hee hee.)
Your stories about the Catacomb, Asterix, and the almost lost purse are fun reading but maybe not so much living through them. Mom said you got a little banged up on the roller-coaster, or whatever it was. I haven't heard much of your speaking French. Don't try to rent a cake, either.
ReplyDeleteMuch love from both.
Wow - I didn't realize there was a whole park devoted to Asterix! Sounds like a fun way to spend a day. Did you know that there is an amusement park in Sweden where Pippi Longstocking is the theme? If your world travels ever take you there you should check it out. Oh - and the "game cafe" I was telling your mom about is called Oya Cafe located at 25 Rue de la Reine Blanche, Metro: Gobelins (13th arrondissement). Look it up on the internet to learn more about it. My kids and I LOVED it. - Lisa
ReplyDeleteWe have Asterix comic books; Thomas and Bo have read a bunch of them! (But only because we ran out of TinTin comics to read. I am a huge TinTin fan!)
ReplyDeleteI was just reading an article about the "The 35-places-to-take-your-kids-before-they-grow-up" and one of the places was Parc Asterix. I was just thinking what a bummer it is that I don't have plans to come to France soon. Thank you for going so I can go there vicariously! :-)

Dear Lauren:
ReplyDeleteYour writings are such fun - some scary like the wallet and skull bit.
I like the word tradition. That shows that you have become a Parisienne for real (Americanism!)
Keep writing.
Love from both of us.
That sounds fun! I want to go to France now! I am totally going there when I go to France! -Sarah
ReplyDeleteThe pictures' cool. I wish I could go to france.
ReplyDeleteI remember when my brothers would read Asterix books. They would come home with millions of books and surprisingly, they would be back at the library in 2 days!
